NIKHIL: We are done here at Southampton, Somerset has come out on top against Hampshire as they win by 4 wickets while chasing down 124.
Hampshire team scored a total of 123 runs in the quota of 20 overs as they got bundled out on the last delivery of their innings.
James Fuller was the only one who could get going for them as he scored 42 runs in no time to help his team achieve what they achieved in 123 runs on the board. Somerset bowlers chipped in with wickets on a regular basis, Davey being their standout bowler with 3 dismissals alongside Gregory, Green, and De Lange who took 2 each.
When the Somerset side came into bat they had just one aim and that was to finish this soon as they scored 55 in the powerplay. The dynamic duo of Banton and Smeed scored quickly and freely followed by a good quick-fire cameo by Rossouw. Hampshire team pulled back a bit with some quickfire wickets in the middle of the innings but the score was too little to defend for them after the start they had from the openers.
Fuller was the only bright side from this game for the Hampshire team as he scored 42 and adding to it, he took 2 wickets that helped in a mini fightback at that moment.
Somerset looks such a unit this season with Smeed, Banton, and Rossouw up front adding De Lange who can do everything that is there in the game to be done.
