what a night for the Kanpur Superstars! This is the first time Kanpur have qualified for playoffs in UPL history, They have punched their ticket to the playoffs in the most emphatic fashion! A seven-wicket victory, and they did it in style, leaving the Gorakhpur Lions gasping for air! Kanpur chased down a modest total of 104 with ice-cold composure and with that, they’re the fourth team into the playoffs!
Let’s talk about that run chase! Shoaib Siddiqui, the man for the big moments, stepped up when it mattered the most! 48* off 54 balls is a knock not about power but pure class! Alongside him, Adarsh Singh was a steady presence, contributing a calm and collected 35 from 39 balls. These two were like a well-oiled machine, rotating the strike, pushing the Lions into submission. When these two had their eyes set, there was no stopping the Superstars! Every boundary was like a dagger to Gorakhpur’s hopes!
But oh, the story began in the first innings! Kanpur’s bowlers were simply unplayable tonight! But on the other hand, the Lions bowlers did not have a good day on the bowling side. Ankit Rajput, the wrecker-in-chief, struck early to give his team that crucial momentum! Ankit Chaudhary and Shivam Sharma chipped in too, with a wicket each that just tightened the noose around Gorakhpur’s neck!.
