Karan Sharma (Kashi Rudras Captain): "I feel we have played badly in all three departments. The conditions did not matter and they batted well. The plan was to chase it well. The two batters needed to get going and we never got going at all. The spinners bowled well. We could have played better cricket as a batting department. We need to take responsibility especially me who has to lead from the front. We will come back stronger in the upcoming games."
07:10 PM IST and Local Time: What a spectacle we've just witnessed, folks! The Meerut Mavericks have absolutely bossed this 16th match of the UP T20 League against the Kashi Rudras. The Mavericks, after electing to bat first, put up a challenging total of 118 runs, which was adjusted to 117 for the Rudras to chase, thanks to the DLS method. The Meerut Mavericks won this game by a huge margin of 50 runs!
And when it came to defending that target, oh boy, the Mavericks were nothing short of magnificent! The Kashi Rudras were left reeling, struggling to find their feet on this tricky pitch. Yashovardhan Singh did show some fight with a quickfire 28* off just 14 balls, but it was too little, too late. Sunil Kumar chipped in with 11* off 11, but no one else really got going, and partnerships were as rare as hen's teeth.
Now, let's talk about that stellar bowling attack from the Mavericks Vishal Chaudhary was on fire, picking up 4 crucial wickets, and absolutely tearing through the Rudras' lineup. Rajat Sanserwal backed him up brilliantly, taking 2 wickets, while Deepanshu Yadav chipped in with 1 to wrap things up.
It was a masterclass in bowling, a performance that complemented their earlier batting brilliance.
