Right then, thats all from this encounter as rain had the last laugh. The ground staffs did their best to get the ground ready but it was not safe enough to resume play as the Match has been Abandoned due to adverse playing conditions.

For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh who, along with scorer/analysts Zeeshan Naiyer brought all the actions of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
23:58 IST & Local Time| Not an ideal end to this game as the Match has been Abandoned due to adverse playing conditions between the Gulbarga Mystics and Mangaluru Dragons.

Earlier in the day, the Gulbarga Mystics were put into bat by Shreyas Gopal. Padikkal got off to a good start while his partner Luvnith Sisodia struggled initially but recovered well with a few lusty blows to add a 64 runs opening stand.

Both the set batters were soon dismissed in quick succession by Shreyas Gopal. The Dragons fought back well as the Mystics from 64/0 were down to 85/4 inside 14 overs.

It required a quick fire knock at the middle and Prithviraj Shekawat (54 off 19) delivered that as he scored the fastest fifty this season so far of 18 deliveries. He soon also became the the first batter to be given out obstructing the field as he was dismissed for 54.

The Gulbarga Mystics somehow managed to cross the 165 run mark as they were bundled out for 169 in 20 overs. The Target for the Mangaluru Dragons was 170 to chase down in 20 overs.

Paras Gurbax Arya (3/24) was the pick of the bowlers for Mangaluru Dragons. Abhilash Shetty bowled two maiden overs on the trot inside the powerplay and was smacked in his other two overs at the death as he finished of with figures off 1/42.

In Reply, as the dew was making it difficult for the bowling side, the two openers for the Mangaluru Dragons took full advantage as they got off to a flying start with the bat. Macneil Hadley Noronha (33*) and Rohan Patil, the Impact Player (11*) put up a 46 run unbeaten opening stand in 4.2 overs. We were just 4 deliveries away from having a confirmed result in the game.

Out of nowhere, it started to pelt down at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and the groundsmen sprinted with the covers onto the field with the surface getting a heavy hit because of the showers.

The Conditions were not suitable to restart the game but the match officials took a massive decision to restart the game. It was a 7 over game at the end.

Vijaykumar Vyshak bowled the first delivery after the resumption of play, he slipped and has twisted his ankle. He has left his skipper fuming at the umpires as they have taken the decision to abandon the game. Both the teams will share points from this encounter!
11:53 PM IST & Local Time: The players shake hands. Looks like the game is done and dusted. Vyshak Vijaykumar hobbles off the field. The match has been called off due to adverse playing conditions.
Vijaykumar finally delivers a ball but he goes down hard. In his delivery stride, it looks like, he twisted his ankle and he is down on the ground. This is unbelievable stuff. The umpires are adamant to carry on. The groundsmen are out again with a hammer to fix the area. Devdutt Padikkal just told the umpire that if the bowler has to go the hospital, it is just not on. It is not anybody's fault that it rained and these are not ideal conditions to play.
4.3 V Vijaykumar to Noronha
0 Finally Vijaykumar from over the wicket, Length ball around off, nips back into the wicket, Noronha gets beaten on the inside edge and wears on the back leg. He slips again and is down heavily on the turf. He has twisted his right angle as Devdutt Padikkal is fuming at the Umpire! This is really a poor decision by the Umpires to play in this slippery condition.
Vijaykumar slips again. At this rate, this game won't end anytime soon. He is telling the umpire that I don't want to risk myself getting injured.
Vyshak slipped as he came onto bowl. He is not happy with the landing area. Devdutt Padikkal is once again having a discussion with the umpire. The umpire is now crowded by 6 players from Mystics. He has again called for the ground staff to work on the landing area. They come out with a hammer to fix the landing area. Right then we try again. Vijaykumar goes back to his run-up.
11:40 PM IST & Local Time: Players are walking out now. It will be a 7-over game. Mangaluru Dragons need 15 runs from 16 balls. Vyshak Vijaykumar to continue his over.
11:38 PM IST & Local Time: After having a chat with the umpires, Devdutt Padikkal has stormed off the field. Stumps have been erected. We are going to have some play.
While we wait for the game to resume, what a knock that was from Prithviraj Shekawat šŸ¤©šŸ”„šŸ‘‡šŸ¼
11:23 PM IST & Local Time: The umpires are now having a discussion with Mangaluru Dragons skipper Shreyas Gopal. He walks away scratching his head. Lots of sawdust being used near the landing area for the bowlers.
11:13 IST & Local Time| The Groundstaffs are bringing back the covers into the field not sure why though. They have kept it near the squares but the wicket is not under covers though. The two Captains are once again having a discussion with the umpires as we await for an update.

Now the umpires along with the match referee are having a word with the pitch curator while the groundsmen are trying their best to get the ground ready at the earliest.
10:58 IST & Local Time| We can have a look from the live visuals that the super soppers are trying their best to dry a certain area as there is a damp spot out there. Some of them are using sponge as well as sawdust. Its towards the mid wicket area of a right hander from the pavilion end. At the end a green mat has been placed in that area.

The Match Referee meanwhile is having a word with the two on-field umpires, probably how many overs of play we can have. The Two Captains have been called upon now to have a discussion with the umpires.
10:46 PM IST & Local Time: We have got good news folks! The groundstaff is coming on the field to take the covers off. Looks like we may get a resumption soon. The covers are being peeled off.
10:39 PM IST & Local Time: Looks like the rain has eased off as the umpires are making their way onto the field to have an inspection.

10:34 PM IST & Local Time: The heavy shower has reduced to a light drizzle, but the covers remain firmly in place. It will take considerable effort from the groundsmen to get the field ready for play.

10:23 PM IST & Local Time: Nothing new to update. It is still pelting down at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Huge puddles have formed just around the edge of the covers near the bowlers' run-up and around the square.
10:06 PM IST& Local Time: A heavy shower has arrived and the players are walking off the field. Covers are coming on now. It is pelting down at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium as the groundsmen are finding it difficult to pull the covers as its pouring down at the moment.  The pitch number one has taken a hit due to the unexpected shower.

Still four balls left for the 5 overs, if the play doesn't start, both teams will share points.
