That is the coverage of the Eliminator of Global T20 Canada. For now, this is me Hrutuja Deshmukh signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Aditya Agarwal, who, alongside our scorer/analyst Ghanendra Singh Thakur brought you all the live action of this fixture. We will meet again. Until then, cheers!
The skipper of Bangla Tigers Mississauga, Shakib Al Hasan refused to play for the 1 over per side match which was going to be conducted by the match officials and he did not go for the toss.  As this goes against the rules of ICC, hence Bangla Tigers have been eliminated from the tournament, and the Toronto Nationals automatically qualify for the Qualifier 2 facing Brampton Wolves.
05:38 AM IST and 08:08 PM Local Time | The match has been called off due to wet outfield. Bangla Tigers Mississauga will play the Qualifier 2 with Brampton Wolves, as they finished above Toronto Nationals in the points table. Toronto National's campaign has unfortunately come to an end
5:00 AM IST and 7:30 PM Local Time: Scratch the previous update! Still, there are a few areas of concern. Toss has been delayed again due to wet outfield.
4:35 AM IST and 7:05 PM Local Time: BREAKING: We have good news, folks! Finally, we have some action. Toss at 4:40 AM IST and 7:10 PM Local Time. Match Starts at 5 AM IST and 7:30 PM Local Time!

IT'S ONE OVER MATCH! A Super Over or you can it as a shootout!
Hrutuja - I agree with Akshaya, the committee should have known better. With oncoming rain, it was necceasry to keep reserve day. Or even the Tournament could have possibly taken place someplace else if it is raining here in Brampton!
Aditya - Hello Akshaya, and to everyone tuning in across the globe. I agree with your point, I personally reckon knowing the tentative weather around the ground, we can have reserve days and better draining facilities so that we can get some cricketing action.
Akshaya: Hello guys - Aditya and Hrutuja! Well, while we keep our fingers crossed for some action at the CAA Centre, a thought comes to mind. You do all the hard work throughout the tournament and get to the playoffs, only to go back home without even getting a chance to compete. If it happens with the Toronto Nationals, it would be a real shame!

What could have been done to make it more encouraging for the franchises? A reserve day, schedule the tournament in multiple venues if available, shift the schedule according to the weather or just say, hard luck, Nationals, you could have played even better and finished ahead of Bangla Tigers Mississauga.
4:20 AM IST and 6:50 PM Local Time: There are plenty of activities on the ground. The sun is shining bright, and both teams' players are having warm-up drills. What worries the match officials is that there are still a few patches near the boundary rope that are soggy. So, the reserve umpire, Bijal Patel, is giving instructions to the ground staff to maybe alter the positioning of the boundaries. That will also mean that there will be irregular dimensions for the players to cope with.

A huge shoutout to the organisers, who are trying really hard to have some cricket at some point in time. Anyways, Bangla Tigers Mississauga would be the happier of the two camps, as a washout in this contest means that they will stay alive in the competition and will face Brampton Wolves in Qualifier 2 tomorrow.
03:59 AM IST and 06:29 PM Local Time | Both the captains are having chat with the on-field umpires regarding the revised playing conditions. We have already lost overs, so it will be a shortened game. The Match Referee is also involved in the discussions with the on-field umpires. The waiting game continues!
03:32 AM IST and 6:02 PM Local Time - Folks we have the umpires out on the ground inspecting the boundary line, checking if the water is soaked up or do we need more time. Stay tuned for any further updates.
02:37 AM IST and 5:07 PM Local Time - We have visuals of the wicket and the 30-yard circle, which looks bone dry but the outer rings seem still a bit damp, might have to wait some more time.
02:09 AM IST and 04:39 PM Local Time | The players are out in the ground and are continuing with their warm ups. Meanwhile, the captains pose with the trophy individually for a quick photoshoot. We are waiting for any official confirmation of the start timings.
01:35 AM IST and 04:05 PM Local Time | The live visuals suggest that there are some patches around the 30 yard circle on which few puddles have been formed, the groundsmen are working on it to procure it. We are in for a delay!
01:16 AM IST and 03:46 PM Local Time | The weather is quite clear at the moment. The covers have been peeled off as well. Good news folks, we can have toss at anytime from now. Stay tuned!
01:06 IST and 03:36 PM Local Time | The toss has been delayed to wet outfield. The good news is, we have a burst of bright sunshine around the ground. Hope that we can get a start time soon!
01:02 AM IST and 03:32 PM Local Time | Since the Qualifier 1 washed out due to heavy rain and we have no reserve days, Montreal Tigers have qualified directly to the finals of Global T20 Canada 2024 as they had finished at the top of the points table after the league stage, while Brampton Wolves will play the Qualifier 2. The winner of the Eliminator will play Brampton Wolves in the Qualifier 2.
