6:42 PM IST and Local Time | That’s the end of the first semi-final match of the Sher-E-Punjab T20 2024. Trident Stallions won the match by 57 runs to set their foot in the final of the tournament.

Here is a review of what happened in the match. 

After losing the toss and were put into the bat first, skipper Prabhsimran Singh and Abhay Choudhary opened the innings for
Trident Stallions. The duo added 117 runs for the first wicket before Prabhsimran was dismissed for 40 from 26 balls. Abhay went on to make 92 from 54 balls. Salil Arora managed to score 11 from 12 balls while Ramandeep Singh added 18 from 9 balls. Sahil Sharma remained unbeaten on 34 from 12 balls and helped his team post a score of 203/8 in 20 overs. 

For Agri Kings Knights, Sumit Sharma and Varinder Singh were the pick of the bowlers. Sumit took 3/39 in 4 overs while Varinder took 3/7 in 1 over. Madhav Pathania picked 2/37 in 4 overs.

Chasing a target of 204, Sehaj Dhawan and skipper Abhishek Sharma opened the innings for Agri Kings Knights. They faced an early setback as both the openers were dismissed in the very first over of the innings for golden ducks. Yuvi Goel and Varinder Singh tried to build up a partnership but Goel was dismissed for 19 from 17 balls. Varinder couldn’t complete his half-century as he got out for 49 from 34 balls. Rahul Kumar made 18 from 12 balls, while Sumit Sharme managed to score 10 from 6 balls.  Aryan Bhatia remained unbeaten on 27 from 19 balls.
Trident Stallions, Gurwinder Bhullar was the pick of the bowlers who took in 4 overs. Gurnoor Brar, Ramandeep Singh and Shubham Rana picked two wickets each while Aryaman Singh picked one in the innings.

W WICKET! BOWLED HIM! Full and straight angling into the stumps, Vinay exposes the stumps and misses. The ball goes through to clatter the stumps. Change of pace does the trick for the Ramandeep as Vinay is the last man out as the Knights have been bowled out for 146 in 19.5 overs, The Trident Stallions advances to the finals with a 57-run win over the Knights.
