Despite a valiant effort, Warwickshire fell just short, finishing with 186 just 11 runs behind. A splendid performance by Northamptonshire to clinch the victory by 11 runs!!

In the first innings Saif Zaib’s sensational knock of 86 off just 41 balls, hitting boundaries all over the park. Matthew Breetzke contributed 21 off 23, and Ravi Bopara added a crucial 19 off 16. Lewis McManus added a short cameo of 22 from 10 balls. The Warwickshire were average in the bowling department with George Garton, Craig Miles, Dan Mousley, and Jacob Benedict Lintott each taking a wicket. Danny Briggs took two crucial wickets that was it for the Warwickshire in the field. 

Coming to the second innings, despite the valiant efforts of Sam Hain who made an astonishing knock of 94 from 60 balls, Jacob Bethell also made 50 runs from 31 balls. With George Garton making a small partnership with Hain in the last he made 29* from 20 balls,

The Northamptonshire were truly magnificent in the bowling department with the early wickets right from the first ball. David Willey took two wickets. Ben Sanderson, Ashton Agar and Ravi Bopara each took one wicket. Their consistency was to watch for in this match.
