22:32 IST and Local Time | Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to this thrilling 12th match of the APL! What a cracker of a game we’ve had today! The Vizag Warriors have taken on the Godavari Titans, and boy, was it a spectacle! VZW won by 8 wickets (DLS METHOD)
In the first innings, the Titans posted a total of 164 runs on the board. Not a bad score, but would it be enough to hold off the charging Warriors? As the clouds gathered and the rain played its part, the stage was set for a dramatic finish!
Batting second, the Vizag Warriors came out all guns blazing! Ashwin Hebbar was on fire, smashing a stunning 75 off just 43 balls. He was unstoppable, tearing the Titans’ bowling attack apart. Captain Srikar Bharat played a crucial role too, contributing a swift 29 off 19 balls. Then came Garimella Teja, with a blistering 32 off 21 balls, adding fuel to the fire!
Due to the rain, the target was revised, and the Warriors had to recalibrate their chase. But they took it all in stride, maintaining their aggression and composure. The Titans, on the other hand, seemed to falter under pressure. Missed catches, sloppy fielding, and squandered run-out opportunities it was not their day in the field.
Chennupati Teja and Tripurana Vijay tried to claw back with a wicket each, but it was too little too late. The Vizag Warriors crossed the finish line with flair, emerging victorious in what turned out to be a one-sided affair in the end.
