comprehensively defeated Bangladesh in the Warm-Up game by 60 runs.
The T20 World Cup starts from tomorrow and Team India will face Ireland on 5th of June at this venue itself with some confidence.
Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first in an unknown surface. The outfield was really slow and some odd balls were keeping a touch low or getting some extra bounce in the surface. The experiment of Sanju Samson the opener did not work out as he was dismissed cheaply in the 2nd over of the match. SKY and Rohit got starts but couldn’t capitalise it onto a big score.
Rishabh Pant who is making a return into International Cricket after a long time has announced himself in style with a wonderful half-century. Shivam Dube struggled in the middle to get his timing right while the other All-Rounder, Hardik Pandya’s quick fire knock of an unbeaten 40 off 23 balls got India into a really good score of 182/5 in this surface. A wicket a piece for four Bangladesh bowlers in the 1st Innings. Bangladesh required 183 runs to chase.
In Reply, the new ball bowlers of India got the swing and were right on the money from ball one. Arshdeep Singh impressed with the new ball as he picked up a couple of wicket inside the powerplay. Bangladesh lost half of their side for just 41 runs in 8.2 overs.
Then came the two veterans of Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan & Mahmudullah Riyad who got together and added up a 75 runs partnership to get Bangladesh into a decent position in the run chase. Though the Bangla Tigers were playing catch up cricket from the start of the 2nd Innings, they lost the contest by 60 runs.
