So, the league stage of the second season of MLC is done and dusted, with Washington Freedom, San Francisco Unicorns, Texas Super Kings, and MI New York making the top four. The playoff round starts tomorrow, with MI New York and Texas Super Kings facing off in the Eliminator. Time to wrap up this coverage, folks! For now, this is Deepak Prakash signing off on behalf of co-commentators Ayan Chatterjee, Ajay Pal Singh, and scorer/analyst Dushyant Madhukar Kumar. CHEERS!
Faf du Plessis (Texas Super Kings Captain): "Yeah, it was important for a few guys to spend some time in the middle. We adjusted our batting order a bit. Someone like Milind, scoring 20-25 today, needed that time for tomorrow.

Calvin Savage, who's good with the bat, also tried bowling to explore our options for tomorrow. The main purpose was to rest some players, keep their bodies fresh, and give others more time and bigger roles to build their confidence for tomorrow.

We definitely had our eye on tomorrow. A lot of our focus, even towards the end, was on planning for tomorrow's game. We were strategizing who would bowl to whom. Since today's game was a bit of a dead rubber, our main aim was to get things right for tomorrow."
Heinrich Klaasen (Seattle Orcas Captain): "Yes, it has been tough and difficult. Guys have been out of form and injuries also hasn't helped.

I think as a batting group we struggled. The bowling was fine. We lacked 15-20 runs every game. Senior players like myself struggled and was not there in the end. Tough to find rhytm in 7 games and tough season for us batters.

We have proper investment that we can do on certain players. More investment we can do on certain players. It's not doom and gloom for us. Just have to work it out hear and there.

We have to reset and regroup and come back stronger next season. Hope we fight back next season."
Calvin Savage (Most Valuable Player of the Match): "(On batting) That was a lot of fun. I put in a lot of hard work, and it's great to see it paying off. It's nice to hit form at the right time. I used to overthink, but now I'm just trying to stay positive, and it's helping.

Playing after the Powerplay helps too since the Powerplay has been tough this tournament. (On his bowling) The wicket is good, but slower balls did hold up, and I just tried to keep it wicket to wicket. Mid-innings, I thought we were slightly over par, but we were probably well over par."
Most Valuable Player of the Match: Calvin Savage.
Play of the Day: Ayan Desai.
Power Hitter of the Match: Mitchell Santner. (322 feet).
Time for the presentations.
Albie Morkel (Texas Super Kings Acting Head Coach): "I think very good so far. Lot of rain in North Carolina. But happy with the last two matches and it was a solid performance by us. Tough to get the guys up for such a game. The boys were up for it and new guys did well. Quick turnaround before tomorrow's game against MI. Calvin was great today. He showed his power hitting and then showed his skills with the ball. If there is a will, there is always a way. Happy for him. See you tomorrow."
9:45 AM IST, 23:15 Local Time: A convincing win for Super Kings as they thump Seattle Orcas by 37 runs and finish their league stage fixture on a high note. Conversely, Orcas lost five games on the trot and ended their campaign on a lackluster note.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, the Super Kings lost Devon Conway for a golden duck on the first ball of the match, with debutant Ayan Desai striking immediately on his MLC debut. Faf du Plessis scored rapidly in the powerplay but couldn’t convert it into a big score, departing for 39 runs off 17 balls. Super Kings lost wickets at regular intervals in the middle phase of the innings but Calvin Savage’s unbeaten 45 runs off 27 has helped them post 177/8 in 20 overs.

Ayan Desai and Keemo Paul bagged a couple of wickets for Orcas, while Cameron Gannon, Nandre Burger, and Michael Bracewell celebrated a solitary wicket.

In pursuit of 177 runs, the Orcas had a similar start to the Super Kings, losing Rickelton for a golden duck to debutant Ottneil Baartman on the first ball of the innings. Quinton de Kock (26) and Shehan Jayasuriya (24) added 52 runs for the second wicket, putting the batting back on track, but both set batters fell prey to Calvin Savage. This triggered a collapse for the Orcas as they started losing wickets at regular intervals.

Orcas' middle order faltered miserably as they fell like nine pins and eventually were restricted to 140/9 in 20 overs.

Ottneil Baartman shone with the ball for Super Kings, grabbing three wickets. Noor Ahmad and Calvin Savage chipped in with a couple of wickets, while Mitchell Santner contributed a solitary wicket to Orcas' downfall.

Stay tuned for the presentation...
