That's all from this enthralling contest, folks! San Francisco Unicorns won by a slender margin of 3 runs and advanced into the playoffs. For now, this is Deepak Prakash signing off on behalf of co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and scorer/analyst Dushyant Madhukar Kumar. CHEERS!
Corey Anderson (San Francisco Unicorns Captain and Player of the Match): "Yes, I am pretty happy to do it for the team. We were in trouble and then Hassan batted well. We fought to get to the total and then the bowling was there to bail us out.

I think you still got to take on aggressive options and we had to get to a defendable score. We got a nice partnership and got ahead in the game. Lots of 2s and it worked for us. Yes, something similar and we beat them again that was important.

I thought we were under par but told the guys to fight and take it deep. It shows the character of the side and proud of the boys how they fought and battled out there.

The pitch looked two paced. We were 4 5 down early. Quality side and bowlers. The middle order did well and got us over the line. Top order was doing well in the previous games."
Kieron Pollard (MI New York Captain): "I think we didn't score enough runs in the middle, and that's where we lost the game. Our bowlers did well early on, but Corey and Hassan formed a partnership and took the game away from us.

I don't want to blame anyone; luck wasn't on our side at various stages of the tournament. We've played well in patches. We can look into different aspects of our bowling (Rashid). In hindsight, we could have made different decisions, but I went with the flow.

I haven't done justice to my captaincy. Our batting hasn't been strong this season, and in a few games, we haven't performed well. I haven't done well myself, though Rashid has brought us close in several games. We have another game to go, so we need to finish well. We're playing for pride, reputation, and passion. Let's see how it goes."
Most Valuable Player of the Match: Corey Anderson.
Play of the Day: Nosthush Kenjige.
Power Hitter of the Match: Romario Shepherd.
Time for the presentations.
Matthew Short (SFU): "Yes, it's a huge win. They are a quality side and it was a strange game. We lost wickets and Corey and Khan got us to a good total and the bowlers did their job. Good question. Pooran is a freak player and got lucky with his dismissal. Shepherd's dismissal was to the bigger side of the boundary. So, lucky to get those. The top order is strong, today we failed and it was good to see Corey and Hassan Khan doing well and getting us the win and batting out there in the middle."
9:42 AM IST, 11:12 PM Local Time: What a game of cricket we have just witnessed! The match swung like a pendulum and eventually rested in the favor of the San Francisco Unicorns, who won by a slender margin of 3 runs and qualified for the playoffs. MI New York bottled up the chase from a strong position and their qualification chances look bleak now.

Earlier, after deciding to bat first, San Francisco Unicorns got off to a horrible start as they lost a flurry of wickets in the first half of the innings and were reeling at 33/5 in 7 overs. Hassan Khan and Corey Anderson started the rescue mission in the middle and the pair added 87 runs for the sixth wicket, with Hassan falling just 6 runs short of his fifty. Anderson remained unbeaten on 59 runs off 37 balls and helped his side post a respectable 148/7 in 20 overs.

Nosthush Kenjige and Trent Boult bagged a couple of wickets each for MI New York, while Romario Shepherd and Rashid Khan celebrated a solitary wicket.

In pursuit of 148 runs,
MI New York lost Ruben Clinton for a 6-ball duck in the second over of the innings. Dewald Brevis and Nicholas Pooran added a valuable 77 runs for the second wicket but their partnership was abruptly halted by Brody Couch, who trapped Brevis for 56 runs and provided the much-needed breakthrough for Unicorns.

Pooran took his time to settle on the crease but failed to make a significant impact as he fell prey to Matthew Short after scoring 26 runs. The wicket of Pooran triggered a collapse for MI New York as they lost a few wickets in quick succession and lost grip on the match. With 20 runs needed off the final over, Heath Richards (24 off 13) and Rashid Khan (14* off 12) tried their best to seal the game but they fell just 3 runs short of Unicorns' total.

Matthew Short shone with the ball for Unicorns, bagging three wickets. Brody Couch chipped in with a couple of wickets, while Haris Rauf and Hassan Khan contributed a solitary wicket to MI New York's downfall.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentation...

19.6 H Rauf to H Richards
W Haris Rauf has held his nerve here. Appeal and given OUT and they won't take the review here as it does not matter. Fuller length delivery outside off, Richards goes for the reverse sweep and  misses to the keeper The ball hits the pads. The umpire Erasmus gives it OUT and there is no point taking the DRS here. The Unicorns hold their nerve to win by 3 runs and become the second team to qualify for the playoffs.
Richards with a crucial hit. 4 needed off 1 ball now. Pat Cummins, Haris Rauf, and Corey Anderson are involved in a chat.
19.5 H Rauf to H Richards
6 SIX! Short of a length and in the slot, Richards pulls it away over deep midwicket as the ball sails way back out of the ground. Slower ball gets dispatched again. Richards could be a hero tonight. 4 runs needed off 1 ball.
10 needed off 2 balls.
19.4 H Rauf to R Khan
1 In the air but safe! Slower ball into the pitch, Rashid mistimes it down to long-off for a single as the ball lands in no man's land.
