That's a wrap from this coverage, folks! Los Angeles Knight Riders start their campaign on a high note. We hope you enjoyed our ball-by-ball coverage of this enthralling contest. For now, this is Deepaks Prakash signing off on behalf of co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and scorer/analyst Dushyant Madhukar Kumar. CHEERS!
Sunil Narine (Los Angeles Knight Riders Captain): "Yes, we played a good game. Struggled with the bat and then did well to get to the total and fight out there. Unmukt played well. You need to back your skills and temperament and the pitch will do the rest. The main thing was picking up early wickets. We kept things under check and Ali was great  and we kept at it. I think those are there and stats and match ups and cricket is played on the day. One was left and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. That's the game sometimes. We came out under pressure and won the game today. That was important and hope to do well as this is a long season."
Faf du Plessis (Texas Super Kings Captain): "I think it's pretty clear - those two overs in the middle where we lost four wickets. We were going well until then. Even in the first innings, our bowling was good.

The boys batted well, but losing four wickets in a short span is never easy. I thought it was a decent score. Early on, there was movement and plenty of grass on the wicket. The new ball was crucial; if we could get through the first six overs without losing too many wickets, it would be good.

I mean, when you start a competition like this, you either start really well with good form and everything clicking on day one, or you identify some coaching points or learning opportunities to work on and improve as you continue to play."
Ali Khan: "I am cramping right now. Felt great and giving 100% for the team was great to see. Sunil knows my strength and gave me at the end. All bowled well at the powerplay and I took it from there. Fighting mentality and come back from adverse situations and that helped us. Yes, that's part of the game and get energy from the spice of the match. Sledging the batters helps me a lot. Well, I thought Deron had dropped it and then I saw him catching it. Great effort and proud of the boys."
Most Valuable Player: Ali Khan.
Longest Six of the Match: Devon Conway.
Play of the Day: Deron Davies.
Time for the presentations.
Spencer Johnson (LAKR): "I mean yes, it's a different role for me. Bowling upfront helps me a lot. It helps me with sideways movement and I enjoy bowling with the new ball. It's cool playing here and love playing in America. I had the best view of the catch of Davis at backward point and that was the game changer for us. Happy to get the win."
10:06 AM IST, 11:36 PM Local Time: The Los Angeles Knight Riders thumped the Texas Super Kings by 12 runs to start their MLC Season 2 campaign on a high note, thanks to Ali Khan's magical 3-wicket over that turned the game in Knight Riders' favor.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, the Los Angeles Knight Riders lost both their openers, Jason Roy and Sunil Narine, for 2 runs each, as Zia-ul-Haq removed both batters in the third over of the innings. The Knight Riders failed to add any significant partnership but the cameos from Shakib Al Hasan (18) and Nitish Kumar (26) kept the scoreboard ticking at a decent pace. Unmukt Chand stood tall with the bat for the Narine-led side and contributed a valuable 68 runs off 45 balls, helping his side post 162/7 in 20 overs.

Zia-ul-Haq, Aaron Hardie, and Marcus Stoinis bagged a couple of wickets for TSK, while Gerald Coetzee celebrated a solitary wicket.

In pursuit of 162 runs, TSK lost Faf du Plessis and Aaron Hardie for 14 and 11 runs, respectively. However, Devon Conway, scoring 53 off 39, looked in sublime touch and kept the scoreboard ticking. TSK were 102/2 in 13.1 overs and appeared to be in complete control of the chase. Yet,
Ali Khan had other plans, removing three TSK batters—Conway, Joshua Tromp (18), and Milind Kumar (0)—in his first over, bringing the Knight Riders back into the hunt.

TSK failed to rebound in the game after getting rocked hard by Ali Khan and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Calvin Savage played an unbeaten cameo of 29 runs off 18 balls at the cue end but it didn't yield the desired result for Men in Yellow as they fell 12 runs short of Knight Riders's total.

Ali Khan wreaked havoc with the ball, finishing with the impressive figures of 4/33. Spencer Johnson chipped in with a couple of wickets, while Shakib Al Hasan and Sunil Narine contributed one wicket each to TSK's downfall.

Stay tuned for the presentation....

1 Fuller length around off, Savage drills it down the ground to long-off for a single to end the over and the match. The Super Kings finish with 150/8 in 20 overs. The Knight Riders it is who win the game by 12 runs.
19.6 A Khan to C Savage
WD Full and wide angling further away outside off, Savage lets it go to the keeper. Wide given by the umpire.
19.5 A Khan to C Savage
2 Fuller length wide outside off, Savage goes inside out over extra covers into the gap as the batters come back for a couple of runs.
19.4 A Khan to C Savage
0 That's it. That's the game! Nails the yorker on the stumps, Savage drills it hard back to the bowler.
Ali Khan is down on the ground. It seems like he has twisted his left ankle and the physio comes out to the middle. The physio is strapping Ali's calf. Alright, he is good to go now.
19.3 A Khan to N ul
1b Fuller and wide outside off, Naveen plays and misses to the keeper. They will sneak in a bye. All sorts of chaos out there and in the end, good backing up keeps it down to a bye.
