This brings us to the end of our coverage of this first T20I between Ireland Women and England Women. The visitors were too good for Gaby Lewis' side but both teams will go again tomorrow for the second and final T20I of the series.

This is Ajay Pal Singh signing off on behalf of my colleagues AkshayaKrishna Polya, Yogesh Kumar, and Vishnu Verma. For more action from the cricketing world, switch tabs to follow it live on CREX.
Kate Cross (England Women Captain): "Bryony was brilliant. She was on the bench last week. That is how you respond when you are put on the bench. Excellent innings and a great partnership with Tammy Beaumont. If I was the bowler, bowling to Bryony, I would have no clue where to bowl to her.

Oh, we are on live television (Kate Cross when the sponsor's board falls over due to a heavy breeze)!

Issy Wong hasn't had the game time she needed in the last couple of years. She was just amazing today. The ball to get rid of Gaby Lewis was outstanding. She just showcased what she got in her.

T20Is come pretty quickly. We need to be on our toes. Looking forward to another game tomorrow. Happy with the win."
Gaby Lewis (Ireland Women Captain): "Yeah, I think credit to them. We never got going. Hopefully, we can take some positives out of this game and come back tomorrow with a better performance.

Yeah definitely, they are amazing and make my job easier. Just stick to our plans and execute them well (on what Ireland need to do tomorrow to bounce back from this defeat)."
Bryony Smith (POTM): "I just love my cricket. I play my best cricket when I keep things simple. I thought that if I got away early, I could play my natural game. Tough week during the ODIs but happy to be back. I was happy with the way I played.

I have watched Tammy Beaumont open for England for a long time. Now, I am enjoying her company. She was happy to give me strike and watch me go. Looking forward to playing the same way tomorrow. We will eye to keep the positiviness going."
Player of the Match: Bryony Smith
9:56 PM IST & 5:26 PM Local Time: England Women go 1-0 up in the two-match series with a comprehensive 67-run win in the first T20I. Bryony Smith set it up with the bat and Charis Pavely, playing her first international game, ran through the middle order of Ireland to give the visitors a huge win. Only two batters managed to get to double figures in an otherwise dismal batting show from Ireland.

Earlier in the match, Ireland won the toss and elected to field first. Bryony Smith took the attack to the Irish bowlers early on and raced to a 24-ball half-century.

Tammy Beaumont (27) and Serne Smale (25) chipped in with handy contributions. The lower middle-order faltered and only Mady Villiers got 35 off 15 to take the visitors past the 170-run mark.

Freya Sargent and Aimee Maguire picked up three wickets each, while Jane Maguire got two wickets.

In reply, Ireland lost Amy Hunter in the first over. Skipper Gaby Lewis made 2 runs off 8 balls before losing her wicket for Issy Wong.

Orla Prendergast fought a lone battle, scoring 52 off 34 but she didn't get any support from the other end. Ava Canning down the order made a run-a-ball 25. Only two Prendergast and Canning got to double figures for the hosts.

Charis Pavely picked up 3 wickets on her debut. Issy Wong got two, while Mahika Gaur, Kate Cross, and Mady Villiers all got one wicket each to give England a huge win. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation.
A direct hit to end the match. A comprehensive win this for England.
18.3 M Villiers to A Maguire
W WICKETT!!!! RUN OUT! Flighted fuller ball outside the off stump. Aimee Maguire gets forward to the pitch of the ball and dives it to extra cover. The batters scamper across for a risky run. Freya Sargent is late to react and has to put the skates on. She dives at the striker's end, but Hollie Armitage hits the bull's eye after collecting the ball moving to her left at short extra cover. Sargent is way short of her ground, which will be the end of the first T20I. England Women with a dominant 67-run win to take an early 1-0 lead in this two-match series!
18.2 M Villiers to F Sargent
1 Full on the stumps. Driven to widish mid on for another run.
18.1 M Villiers to A Maguire
1 Over the wicket. Tossed up on the middle stump. Aimee Maguire gets forward and mistimes the slog to Adams at widish mid on for a single.
Ireland Women need 70 from the last two. Every ball has to disappear into the crowd.
