Having lost
the toss and put into bat, Netherlands started off really well with the bat.
Both the openers, Max O’Dowd and Michael Levitt got
them off to a really good start. They got an opening partnership of 68 runs and
then Gavin Main broke the partnership as he got the wicket of Michael Levitt who
was dismissed for 43 off 31 balls. Max O’Dowd was struggling in the
middle as he got a run-a-ball 30.
Then
Vikramjit Singh looked in great touch and got a quick fire 39 off 18 balls. Teja
Nidamanuru’s cameo of 19 off 10 balls helped Netherlands get a total of 167
runs in their 20 overs. Chris Sole (2/44) and Gavin Main (2/26) was the pick of
the bowlers for Scotland. Scotland required 168 runs to chase in their 20
overs.
In Reply, Scotland did not get off to a good start, they lost 3 wickets inside the powerplay and were already playing catch up cricket. The 66 runs partnership between Richard Berrington and Matthew Cross got them back into the game but the dismissal of the Scotland skipper got Netherlands right back in the game.
Since the fall of the 4th wicket, Scotland kept losing wickets at regular intervals and none of the Scotland batters got going at all in the middle. Vivian Kingma (4/21) and Logan van Beek (3/18) were the pick off the bowlers for Netherlands. They wrap up the game quickly and defeated Scotland by 41 runs.
