That brings us to a close of our live coverage of this Women's Asia Cup semifinal between Sri Lanka Women and Pakistan Women. For now, it's the pair of Soumarya Dutta and Pritam Dey taking your leave on behalf of our Scorer/Analyst Manish Bishnoi.
Chamari Athapaththu (Player of the Match & Sri Lanka Women Captain): "Yeah you know the game is really tight so we sticked to our plans. Unfortunately I got out a bit early at the wrong time but our girls performed well and got us over the line.

Yeah Definitely 140 was chaseable as it was a good track to bat and we wanted to have the belief on ourselves and we did that. Yeah, I wanted to take my time at the middle because we lost two wickets early so I wanted to stay at the middle and lead from the front as a senior batter. Yeah, lets not take too much pressure on us for the Final, lets enjoy the moment and play our best cricket."
Player of the Match - Chamari Athapaththu
Nida Dar( Pakistan Women Captain) - "Really disappointing result for us but I am proud of the girls for the way they played against this Sri Lankan team in front of this big crowd. We will take back the memories. A few more wickets in the middle overs would have been better. 140 was a chasable score but we still went till the final over and the youngsters learnt a lot in the process."
Time for the post match presentations.
SRI LANKA WOMEN will face INDIA WOMEN in the Final of the Women's Asia Cup'24 on Sunday.
22:16 IST and Local Time- Anushka Sanjeewani finishes off the job and Sri Lanka Women storm into the final of the Women's Asia Cup 2024! Pakistan Women fought till the final ball and skipper Nida Dar was outstanding under pressure but the hosts proved to be a better side in the end. Spare of thought for the Pakistanis who made a real match of it but couldn't hold their nerves towards the end. Sri Lanka Women end up with 141/7 in their 19.5 overs and they clinch this semifinal with 3 wickets.

Pakistan Women started off really well with the ball and they picked up Gunaratne in the very first over. This was followed by the wicket of Samarawickrama who never really got herself going. The squeeze was on and Sri Lanka got only 35 runs in their powerplay for the loss of two wickets.

Sri Lanka broke free post that as Chamari Athapaththu went big and got some decent support from Dilhari. Together they picked up the boundaries as Pakistan Women messed up badly in the field. Muneeba Ali missed one stumping and didn't claim another one. At the end of the halfway stage of the innings the hosts were 69/2.

Sadia Iqbal came into the attack and picked up two quick wickets to give Sri Lanka a major jolt but Chamari Athapaththu was an immovable force at the crease. Sanjeewani too played a few big shots as the run rate came down to manageable extent for the hosts. As the game headed into the final five overs Sri Lanka needed 35 runs to win.

Chamari and Sanjeewani almost took Sri Lanka to the cusp of a victory when Sadia struck again and got rid of Chamari. There was a few nerves in the end as Sri Lanka needed 3 runs to win from three balls but Anushka held her nerve to clinch it for her side despite the best of efforts from Pakistan Women.
19.5 N Dar to A Sanjeewani
1 That's the winning runs for Sri Lanka Women. They win the match by 3 wickets and Anushka Sanjeewani hits the winning runs to get her side over the line. The players from the dug out sprint into the field in joy to hug the two batters, especially Anushka who played a blinder of a knock to get her side over the line.

Talking about the ball, Overpitched delivery at the stumps, Anushka knocks it down the ground to the left of long on for a single. Both the batters finish the single and sprint to celebrate with their team mates. SRI LANKA WOMEN are into the ASIA CUP FINALS TO FACE INDIA WOMEN.
