Nigar Sultana (Bangladesh Women Captain): "Definitely. Winning is always good. Good to see how the batters batted today. If we had to qualify for the semis, we had to win today.
Consistency by the batters. Murshida scored a fifty and today also, she scored good. The bowlers also bowled well and happy with the performance.
We are looking forward to play good cricket and execute our game plan. I have belief in my team. We all know what they are capable of.
Definitely. I love batting. But on this surface, the ball was coming nicely onto the bat. Murshida was hitting the ball well. So, I just tried to give her the strike.
Dilara is a wonderful wicket-keeper. She doesn't get much chance because of me. So, I told to coach that she will keep today."
Murshida Khatun (Player of the Match): "Happy to get the highest score for Bangladesh. Next match is semifinal so I am confident. The understanding with Dilara is very good as we are batting together for a long time. There was a slight miscommunication in the last game but all was well today. The cover drive was my favorite shot today."
Player of the Match: Murshida Khatun
Winifred Duraisingam (Malaysia Women Captain): "This is a great experience for all the girls. We have a young squad. Hopefully, they will take a lot of learnings from this exposure.
We didn't do well in all three departments. I hope the girls will learn from this tournament, reflect and come back stronger in the next tournament.
We have a lot of youngsters in the team. This is a great opportunity for them to learn from the mistakes. It's not easy to play against such strong teams in the Asia Cup. I hope the girls get something from this tournament."

4:57 PM: Bangladesh finished their group stage with a thumping 114-run win over Malaysia in Group B of the Women's Asia Cup 2024 as they seal their spot in the semifinals.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Bangladesh posted their 2nd highest T20I total with 191/2 in 20 overs. Opener Murshida Khatun scoring 80 and skipper Nigar Sultana an unbeaten 62 off 37 balls.
Malaysia lost opener Ainna Hamizah Hashim on the very second ball of the innings and kept losing wickets at regular interval. Elsa Hunter top scored with 20 in 23 balls with only Mahirah Izzati Ismail (15 off 25) and Wan Julia (11 off 25) reaching double digits with the bat. The 2nd wicket partnership between Hunter and Julia was the biggest, adding 26 runs.
Jahanara Alam returning to the playing XI struck in the first over itself and finished with an impressive 1/20. Nahida Akter was the pick of the bowlers with 2/13. Every bowler except Rumana Ahmed (0/5 in 1 over) picked up a wicket apiece.
Bangladesh will have to wait for their fate in the tournament as Sri Lanka will face Thailand later in the evening. If Sri Lanka win the game then both SL and Bangladesh will move to the semis and if Thailand manages a win against SL with a big margin then it will come to the net run rate as all the three teams currently have 4 points on the table.
