What an entertaining match we had at Lord's. It was a proper English pitch, and the pacers and spinners enjoyed bowling on it. The same can't be said for the batters. London Spirit held the nerves in the end.

For now, this is me AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Pritam Dey, and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav, who brought you all the live-action of this mouth-watering game of cricket. We will meet again in the next one. Until then, its cheers!
Liam Dawson (Player of the match): "Yeah definitely it was important to get over the line. It was a very important game for us and it was nice to get our first win on the bag. Yeah we started nicely with the ball and I tried to bowl slower in this wicket which worked out well for us.

Yeah I varied my pace according to the batter and I think it worked out well for me tonight. It was never an easy wicket to bat on as it was doing quite a lot but we are happy to somehow get over the line."

10:14 PM IST and 5:44 PM Local Time: What a thrilling match we had here at the Lord's! It was yet another low-scoring nail-biter, and at the end of it, London Spirit held their nerve to get their first win of this season by three wickets!

Earlier in the match, London Spirit won the toss and opted to bowl first. There was no momentum in the Welsh Fire batting as the Spirit bowlers breathed fire right from the get-go.

Dan Worrall bowled two consecutive maiden sets, setting the tone on a spicy wicket that had a bit of everything for the fast bowlers. Welsh Fire struggled throughout and were restricted to just 94/9 in 100 balls. Luke Wells was the top scorer for the Fire, hammering 23 off just 8 balls, batting at 3. There were a few batters with double-digit scores, but none of them could bail the team out of trouble.

Liam Dawson (3/10) and Nathan Ellis (3/16) grabbed three wickets each, while Andre Russell (1/22), Worrall (1/16) and Olly Stone (1/10) picked up one wicket each.

It was not an easy chase for the Spirit. They, too, struggled to cope with the pace and bounce of the Lord's, with Welsh Fire persisting with David Willey and Matt Henry operating through their four sets all in one spell.

Ollie Pope did look solid with two glorious boundary hits but failed to continue with his class batting. Dan Lawrence and Shimron Hetmyer stood tall when the franchise's score read 4/38 before the duo added 46 runs for the fifth wicket to keep the opposition at bay.

However, a break in play brought about the dismissal of Lawrence (29 off 27) before Haris Rauf cleaned up Andre Russell for a golden duck in the very next ball. Liam Dawson, too, threw his wicket away in the closing stages of the game, but Hettie (30* off 21) kept his cool and finished the match with a maximum to Rauf in the 87th ball of the chase.

Henry (3/19), Willey (0/16), Rauf (3/20) and Mason Crane (1/18) gave their best with the ball but the target was not big enough to stop the Spirit from getting to their first win of the season.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentations...
Shimron Hetmyer hits the winning runs for the London Spirit with a BIGGIE as the home side open their account this season with a 3 wicket victory!
87b H Rauf to S Hetmyer
6 SIXXXX!!! This time, Shimron Hetmyer connects and connects well! That is the winning runs for London Spirit! Hetmyer delivers under pressure! Another pacey short ball angled back into the batter. Hetmyer is not holding himself back on this occasion. Goes hard at it with a flat-batted pull. Doesn't quite get the desired connection but has enough power behind it to send it over the fence for a maximum. It flies away over Phillips at deep mid-wicket for a biggie. London Spirit win by 3 wickets in a low-scoring fixture and this is their first victory of the season!
86b H Rauf to S Hetmyer
0 Around the wicket. Effort ball from Rauf. 87 mph. Bouncer angled back into the batter. That goes past the top edge of Hetmyer as he misses the pull, getting beaten for pace.
5 needed now off 15 balls. Who will bowl this set? Its Haris Rauf to bowl out. This is going to be a very crucial set.

6 runs are required. London Spirit are 7 down now! What's happening here at Lord's??
83b M Crane to L Dawson
W WICKETTT!!! Another one bites the dust! Crane gets his first wicket. Leg break, full and outside off. Dawson gets down on one knee and goes for an across-the-line slog sweep against the spin. Poor shot selection from the Hampshire all-rounder as he gets a top edge that balloons straight to short fine leg, where Matt Henry gobbles it up.
