That's it from our coverage of the last game to be played at the Nassau County Ground in this edition of the Men's T20 World Cup. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Rohit Sharma (India Captain): "We knew it was going to be a tough task scoring those many runs. Credit to us, we held our nerves, credit to Surya and Dube to take the responsibility and take the team ahead.

I am very happy to see their progress in cricket as well. They are going strength to strength. I hope nothing but best for them. They are hard working guys making a mark in US.

We knew that bowlers have to take the lead. Run scoring is difficult here. All the bowlers did the job, particularly Arshdeep. The way he started was magnificent.

[On Dube bowling] We want options with us. As and when we feel like we could use them, we will use them. All I want is to have options moving forward.

[Super 8s] It is a big relief. Playing here wasn't easy. All 3 games we played, you have to really stick to the end and take the game as best possible. Luckily we managed to pull through in all 3 games.

Surya showed he has got a different game as well. That's what you expect from experienced players. His partnership was brilliant with Dube to take us home."
Aaron Jones (United States of America Captain): "I would say 10-15 runs short on that wicket. If we would have gotten to 120-125, it would have been a tough total. The boys were pretty disciplined today. It was pleasing for me to get the game so close. Proud of the boys.

(On the crowd support) It's definitely good. That's what we have been talking for the last few years. We want the fans coming in to support USA and it was good to see.

We will just revamp and travel tomorrow and come back harder against Ireland in the next game.

(On not using spinners today) The wicket was tricky against seam bowling. I thought the seamers were the best options on this wicket.

(On Monank Patel) Mostly, Monank will be fit for the next game. I don't think that's much serious. He will be fit."
Slowest fifty by balls faced in T20 World Cups:

52 - Mohammad Rizwan vs Canada in New York, 2024

50 - David Miller vs Netherlands in New York, 2024

49 - Devon Smith vs Bangladesh in Johannesburg, 2007

49 - David Hussey vs England in Barbados, 2010

49 - Suryakumar Yadav vs USA in New York, 2024 - TODAY
Arshdeep Singh (Player of the Match): "Yeah, very very happy with my performance. In the last two games, I gave away too many runs but happy with my performance today. The management keeps backing me and happy to step up today.

The wicket is helping us fast bowlers get some seam movement. It was good to bowl here and tried to hit the right areas.

The talk in the dressing room was about don't give easy balls to score because our batters will have to work hard to get those runs.

In these conditions, you can execute your skills and try to take advantage of the conditions. I spoke with Jasprit and he said you can bowl your yorkers here.

When you are playing international cricket, you have routines. You have to go through your routines. Just keep it simple and get ready for the match. It's nice to see all the bowlers do well. Looking forward to the next games."
Player of the Match: Arshdeep Singh
This was Suryakumar Yadav's 50th half-century in T20s.
11:32 PM IST, 2:02 PM Local Time: A hattrick of wins for India in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 as they defeat hosts USA by 7 wickets to enter the Super 8 stage of the tournament.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma called it right at the toss electing to bowl first. Arshdeep Singh was on fire recording his career best figures of 4/9 to restrict the hosts for 110/8 in the 20 overs.

America's left arm seamer troubled India as well with Saurabh Netravalkar removing Virat Kohli for a golden duck and then Rohit Sharma for just 3 in his 2 overs finishing with an impressive 2/18 in 4.

Rishabh Pant scored 18 in 20 taking the innings forward with a 29-run 3rd wicket stand with Suryakumar Yadav. Pant was replaced by fellow left hander Shivam Dube at the crease. Dube struggled to get bat on ball early in the innings but then gave up on going hard at the ball and hung around Suryakumar to get India to victory.

Yadav looked in good nick today despite getting a reprieve in the innings. After a couple of low scores, the Mumbai batter scored a match winning unbeaten 50 off 49 balls with 2 fours and as many sixes. The Mumbai duo added 72 runs for the 4th wicket remaining at the crease till the end.

Ali Khan (1/21) was the only other wicket taker besides Netravalkar with Jasdeep Singh (0/24) and Corey Anderson (0/17) bowling some tight overs. There weren't enough runs on the board and a 5-run penalty inflicted on the hosts due to taking too much time between the overs on multiple occasions did not help their cause.

India have now qualified to the next stage and it is a stiff competition among USA, Pakistan and Ireland for the 2nd spot from Group A.

Stay tuned as we bring you the post match festivities.
This (111) is the highest successful chase at this ground. India becomes the 3rd team to qualify for the Super 8s after South Africa and Australia.
18.2 A Khan to S Dube
2 Full length on the off stump. Clears the front leg, waits for the ball and smashes it straight down the ground. Long on runs across and does well to save the boundary. Batters head back for the 2nd and that will be a hattrick of wins for India in this T20 World Cup.
18.2 A Khan to S Dube
WD Full but too far across the off stump, Dube lets it go. Umpire calls and signals wide.
Fifty for Suryakumar Yadav. A well-composed knock from him. Came in to bat when his team was in a tricky position but has held the innings nicely and has brought up his fifty off 49 balls.
18.1 A Khan to S Yadav
1 Over the wicket. Fuller length delivery down the leg side. Tucked around the corner to short fine leg scampering across for a quick single. Surya gets to his half century!
India require just 4 runs from 12 balls. Ali Khan to bowl the penultimate over.
