19:45 IST, 15:15 Local time - It's a real shame that the second ODI between England Women and Pakistan Women has been abandoned here and it has also ended any chances of Pakistan winning the series. We were in for a long waiting game today as the weather gods played spoilsport with persistent rains leading to the game being called off.
Pakistan Women had started off quite positively as they picked up 29 runs from the 41 balls that had been bowled. There were a couple of outside edges that went to the boundary leading to some frustration for the hosts. Sadaf Shamas was particularly on the charge and she moved quickly to 18. Ameen on the other hand made a sedate start and played second fiddle in the partnership.
Overall, it's disappointing result from the point of view of both teams in general but Pakistan in particular. They've endured some tough times in this tour and the final ODI will be their only chance at redeeming themselves and ending the tour with a consolation victory. England on the other hand, will look to continue with their dominance and end the tour with a victory and the seal the series in the process.
