Match Details
Quinton de Kock kept marching on and glued up a 65-run partnership with Matthew Breetzke. The southpaw played a captain’s knock and brought up his half-century before he was dismissed for 63(41) which included 7 fours and 3 maximums to his credit. Keemo Paul, the next man in, completely changed the course of the game by smashing a quickfire 31(18) but a couple of quick breakthroughs from Kagiso Rabada at the backend again leveled the contest.
Eventually, it was a composed inning of 48(39) from Breetzke that got the home side over the line. The Durban Super Giants are still alive in the competition. Rabada was the pick of bowlers for MI Cape Town and ended his stint with the figures of 3/22.
Earlier in the day, after being invited to bat first, the visitors registered 165/5 on the board. After losing both the openers early on, Rassie van der Dussen joined forces with Tim David and stitched a much-needed partnership of 55 runs. David Willey brought the partnership to a close by dismissing Rassie for 43(32). Tim David also secured 33(26) before returning. Struggling at 115/5, Delano Potgieter resurrected the Cape Town innings by swatting 32(17). Dwaine Pretorius bagged the most wickets for Super Giants but was a touch expensive.
