registered their fourth win in this ILT20 2023. They were clinical in all
three departments and rightly so bagged the eventual victory in the end.
Chasing 170, the Vipers started innings with Mustafa and Hales. They had a solid start after the early wicket of Mustafa. Hales and skipper Munro both built up a partnership of 72 runs for the second wicket before Munro departed at 41 runs off 22 balls. Vipers scored 58 runs for the loss of one wicket in the powerplay.
Sam Billings fails to impress us today as he departed at 1 run. On the other end, Alex Hales looked comfortable in the middle and completed his fifty, and stayed unbeaten at 62 runs off 44 balls. Rutherford came with 56 runs in 29 balls. Hales and Rutherford both put up a partnership of 94 runs in the middle and took their team towards victory in the 17th over.
From the Emirates bowling side, Samit Patel pocketed 2 wickets in his name while Boult
celebrated with a wicket.
Earlier in the day, Desert Vipers won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Emirates openers Waseem and his co-partner Aravind failed to give a good start for the Emirates as they lost two back-to-back wickets at 10 runs on the scoreboard. MI Emirates scored 35 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the powerplay.
Fletcher joined Pooran and this duo built up a partnership of 44 runs for the 3rd wicket before Fletcher departed at 21 runs off 18 balls. Afterward, both Pooran and Pollard handled the game very well. The Vipers failed to break the partnership as both Pooran and Pollard brought up their respective fifties. Both put a stand of 116 runs which helped them post 169 on the board. Pooran was dismissed on 57 in the last over whereas Pollard remained unbeaten on 67 off just 39 balls.
From the Vipers bowling side, Tom Curran picked up two wickets while Sheldon Cottrell and Gus Atkinson picked up a wicket each.
