That's a wrap from our side as well. Wellington won the game by 8 runs. We appreciate your participation from all across the world. On behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and Scorer/Analyst Raju Khariyar. I am Tugral Azmi, signing off. Please join us for the next game of Super Smash.✌✌
Peter Younghusband: "Yeah, I am very happy with the win. We have a couple of good bowlers in our bank and they performed well. I was a bit nervy in the morning but yeah, everything went according to plan. It's great to see guys higher on us coming here and taking the opportunity to perform, even though a couple of guys fail today. I love the Wellington crowd."
Hamish Rutherford (Otago): "Yes, I feel a little bad that we lost after reaching so close in the game, but Foxcroft played the match-winning innings today. but no one the tournament has just started so we will bounce back in the next game."
Rachin Ravindra( Player of the match): " It was a bit tacky wicket and I tried to hold my wickets and stay calm. Of course, they love to come here(Spectators), and also it's Christmas eve so I hope they enjoyed the game."
10:18 PM IST | What a close encounter we were witnessing today. An all-around display of performance by the Wellington👏👏 as they thumped Otago by 8 runs.

Wellington scored 152 runs for the cost of five wickets in 20 overs earlier after being invited to bat first by the opposition. The Firebird's leading scorer, Ravindra, amassed 67 runs off just 45 balls. Ravindra and Smith shared a 37-run partnership for the 4th wicket to handle the team's sinking innings but Smith returned to the pavilion on scores of 19. Ravindra played an entertaining inning in the death overs to take the team to 152. Otago's bowlers led by Michael Rae's three wickets and Dean Foxcroft's two wickets put the brakes on Wellington's run-scoring. Jacob Duffy and Ben Lockrose bagged a wicket each.

In response to 152 runs, the Otago got off to a steady start as their opener Hamish Rutherford departed on just 2. Dean Foxcroft joined Dale Phillips in the middle, both forged a partnership of 76 runs off 67 balls for the second wicket. Phillips was dismissed by Smith on 28. Foxcroft took command of the innings and gave his life till the last over to win his team. Foxcroft played a mature inning of 74 off 67 balls which included 8 fours and a long six. But due to lack of support from any batter, Otago had to face defeat by 8 runs.

On the other hand, Adam Milne and Logan van Beekscalped a couple of wickets each for Wellington. Nathan Smith and Peter Younghusband shared one wicket each.

Stay tuned for the presentations.

19.5 A Milne to D Foxcroft
W WICKET!!!! Run out!! Back of a length ball over the stumps and Foxcroft mises it. Gibson looks for a quick single but Foxcroft denied it. The keeper passes the ball to the bowler who did the rest of the work.
19.4 A Milne to J Gibson
1 Fuller ball on the off and Gibson slices it to short point who spills it. Single completed on the occasion.
19.3 A Milne to D Foxcroft
1lb Good length ball down the leg and Foxcroft bends on one knee and looks to heave it over the square leg but didn't connect it well and will sneak a leg byes single.
Run-Out Check!! A polite inquiry for run-out. Replays clearly show that the bat is behind the line when the bails off.
19.2 A Milne to J Gibson
1b Length delivery, shaping away outside off. Gibson fails to connect it and is set off for a quick run. He made the crease comfortably and the third umpire has given it Not-Out.
