That brings an end to our coverage for this game. I'm Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Harshdeep Singh Ahluwalia and scorer Zeeshan Naiyer. Tata. Bye bye.
Yasir Shah | Balochistan Skipper:"Thanks to the almighty for the win. Despite our poor fielding, our batters did a fine job to chase down the total. We would have loved to keep them below 150 but credit to the batters. We were poor in the field and dropped too many chances. We have to bowl well in the phase between 13 to 16 overs."
Umar Amin | Northern Skipper:"We were in the game for the most part of the game but credit to Haris for the way he played. We need to improve on our batting in the powerplay. We need to play aggressively in the first six overs and I feel were 10 runs short. There are concerns about the death bowling but we will look to work on it in the next games."
Haris Sohail | Player of the Match: "The plan was simple to keep batting till the end of the chase. The wickets were falling from the other end and I tried to stay till the end. The way the wicket was behaving, we tried to take it deep and stay in the chase. We were confident of chasing it we kept building partnerships in the middle."
Haris Sohail is named the Player of the Match for his match-winning knock of 52*.
Time for the post-match presentation.
Akshay: WOWW!!!! What a finish to this game. Take a bow Amad Butt. I’m short of words at the moment. With 13 required from
the last over, Butt goes 6,6,1 to take his home. There were plenty of ebbs and
flows throughout the game but Balochistan manage to hold their nerves to beat
Northern by five wickets to grab two crucial points. Balochistan
had a good start to the chase, thanks to Abdul Bangalzai. Opening the innings,
he took on the bowling from the word go. Haseebullah again failed and departed
on 8 in the fourth over as they finished the powerplay on 44/1. Ali Waqas fell
on 19 in the seventh over and Bangalzai also was dismissed on 27 in the very
next over. Shan Masood walked in to bat and looked positive at the crease. Masood
along with Haris Sohail started building a partnership before the former fell
on 11. Sohail played some wonderful strokes and kept Balochistan in the chase.
Talat Hussain played aggressively right from the start of his innings as the
required run rate was close to 10. Both Talat and Sohail hit some lusty blows but
in the end. Talat departed on 31 in the 18th over. That brought Amad
Butt to the crease and he played an outstanding innings of 15* off just six
balls to take his side across the line with three balls to spare. Not to forget Sohail’s
contribution of 52* as they grabbed their fifth win of the competition. Earlier in
the day, Northern skipper Umar Amin won the toss and opted to bat first. They
got off to a shaky start as they lost three wickets inside the powerplay with
not much on the board. Umar Amin along with Zeeshan Malik started the recovery
work but the latter fell on 16. Amin was going strong from one end as he played
some wonderful strokes. Mubasir
Khan supported Amin nicely from the other end as they both put 73 between them the
former departed on 29. Amin brought up his fifty and teed off in the death
over. Balochistan were a bit sloppy in the field in the slog overs as they dropped
too many chances. Umar Amin and Sohail Tanvir remained unbeaten on 67 and 19
respectively to help their side post 168 on the board. Kashif Bhatti picked up
two wickets but was a bit expensive. Balochistan picked up six wickets in
total. In the end, their batters did a fine job to chase down a tricky total on this surface. Stick around for post-match presentation.
19.3 Z Khan to A Butt
1 Single and that’s it, Butt wins the game for his side in just 3 deliveries of the final over, solid batting display from Balochistan today
Akshay: Amad Butt you beauty. That should be the game for Balochistan.
19.2 Z Khan to A Butt
6 SIX!!!! Butt anticipated the fuller delivery and goes deep in his crease to slam it over the bowlers head for another maximum
Akshay: WOWWW!!! What a strike under pressure from Amad Butt. A six on the first ball and he has brought down the equation to 7 from 5.
19.1 Z Khan to A Butt
6 SIX!!!! Butt brings the situation in favour of Balochistan, length delivery by Zaman and he paid the price as Butt swung his bat hard for that shot
13 required from the last over. Zaman Khan has been handed the responsibility of defending it. Can he defend it?
