NIKHIL: So, we are done here with Guyana Amazon Warriors winning the game by 7 runs,
After losing the toss, the Warriors were asked to bat first here and they got off to a great start as both Shai and Hemraj started aggressively, especially Shai Hope. They managed to hit two sixes in the first couple of overs and unlocked the powerplay over which they took straight after the end of the mandatory powerplay. That over of powerplay turned out to be a nightmare for the batting side as both Shai and Hemraj lost their wicket to Royal. The South African duo of Klaasen and Ingram failed to make an impact with the bat as they were sent back on the scores of 8 and 1 respectively. Then the skipper Hetmyer and Odean smith took the charge in their hands and start ticking runs at regular intervals. Odean Smith gave the finishing touch as they ended up with a score of 111.
For the St. Lucia Kings, Royal and Forde took a couple of wickets each while Deyal took one wicket as well.
In reply to the target set by the Warriors, the St. Lucia Kings started off in a dodgy manner losing both of their openers cheaply.
Both Deyal and Charles departed while it was just 17 on the scorecard. Bootan too departed after the openers. The Warriors lost way too many wickets too soon as they were 55 for the loss of 5 wickets in 6 overs. It was then on Primus and Forde to take the game deep to the last over where they fell short by just 7 runs. Forde and Primus posted a partnership of 49 runs. Primus was the top scorer with 41 runs.
For the Warriors, Salamkheil took 3 wickets while Beaton, Permaul, and Odean Smith took a wicket each.
