NIKHIL: So, we are done here with Hobart Hurricane Women winning the game by 19 runs.
Hobart Hurricane Women started off in a solid manner as they managed to score 19 for the loss of no wicket in the powerplay and added a further 21 runs without losing any in the power surge overs. Lee and Trenaman batted well together for the 3rd wicket partnership as they added 49 runs together. It was for splendid innings of 33 runs by Mignon Du Preez that the Hurricane Women managed to score 125 runs.
For Sydney Thunder Women, Bates and Tryon were outstanding as they scalped a couple each While Sammy Jo-Johnson picked up a wicket too.
In reply to the target set by the Hurricane Women, the Thunder Women started off on a decent note as the openers came out all guns blazing and managed to score 23 for 1 in the powerplay. Beaumont and Litchfield batted well for the 1st wicket partnership as they scored 21 runs. Phoebe Litchfield started well as she smashed the bowlers all around the park scoring a run a ball 25 runs before departing to Graham. The flurry of wickets in the middle stages damaged the run flow as a result they failed to chase this low total down.
For Hobart Hurricane Women, Molly Strano and Heather Graham were outstanding as they scalped 3 wickets each. Nicola Carey took a couple of wickets while Gibson took a wicket too.
