Match Details
Mann K Bafna (Player of the Match): Pitch was difficult. When I went in, it was low, wasn't coming on. Thought 120-130 was a par score. My role is to play till 17-18th over as we have big hitters like Rajkumar to come down the order.
Ovaise: IDream Tiruppur Tamizahans have won the match by 53 runs!! Tamizahans crawled their way to 129-7 after playing their full quota of 20. Madhurai would have been confident mid-way but they collapsed and have got bundled out for just 76, registering the third lowest total in the history of the TNPL!!
Earlier in the day, Madhurai Panther won the toss and opted to bowl first. S Arvind and skipper Srikkanth Anirudha walked out to open the batting for the IDream Trippur Tamizhans and got off to a good start, the first ball was put away for a boundary, looked like ITT wanted to capitalize early in the powerplay but Kiran Akash was brilliant with the ball in hand, he swung the ball both ways and made it extremely tough for the batter out in the middle and was rewarded with a wicket on the fifth ball of his first over, dismissing the dangerous Anirudha. R Rajkumar walked in and looked in a very aggressive mood, but he too was dismissed by Kiran Akash which left ITT reeling at 26-2 in 3.3 overs. Francis Rokins joined Arvind in the middle and together they steadied the ship and stitched up a small partnership and took their team past the 50 runs mark.
Spin was introduced into the attack picked up two quick wickets and put Tiruppur on the back foot!! Tiruppur were 4 down for 52 in 9.1 when Mann K Bafna and Tushar Raheja stitched up a good partnership, they were watchful but at the same time were punishing the bad deliveries. ITT lost Raheja on the 1st ball on the 15th over and were 83-5!! Mann K Bafna was the only batter who looked like taking Tiruppur to a formidable totally, he alongside Suresh Kumar took their team past the 100-run mark, Suresh was dismissed on the last ball of the 17th over. Although Mann K Bafna was losing partners from the other end he looked determined to take his team to a competitive total.
K Akash was the pick of the bowlers for the Madhurai Panther picking up 3 wickets. Ragupathy Silambarasan, Varun Chakravarthy, Jagatheesan Kousik and PK Sarvanan picked up a wicket each!! Sunny Sandhu was the only one who went wicketless and a tad expensive as well, giving away 33 runs in his 3 overs.
