Match Details
It was Richard Berrington who won the toss earlier in the day and opted to bat first on an overcast morning at Edinburgh. The Scottish openers got off to a steady start as they put up 46 for the first wicket before Kyle Coetzer fell for 22. Michael Jones contributed 36 runs. But it was Matthew Cross’s 53, and Michael Leask’s 85 that propelled the hosts to get to 300+. Cameos from Mark Watt 31 and Satyaan Shariff 28 took Scotland to 306 all out which had 18 extras with them.
From New Zealand’s
point of view, Michael Bracewell was the pick of the bowlers with his 3-43 in
10 overs. A couple of wickets apiece for Jacob Duffy, and Lockie Ferguson. A
wicket for Blair Tickner as well alongside Daryl Mitchell who bowled two overs
for 6 runs. But the pacers Ferguson and Duffy went the distance. Skipper
Mitchell Santner went for 10 wicketless overs for 60 runs.
In the end, a comfortable win for New Zealand by 7 wickets with 25 balls to spare. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation ceremony coming your way soon.
