So it's a good bye for now from AkshayaKrishna Polya, Badal Pareek and Anmol Ahuja. We will meet in the next match. Until then, it's cheers...!
So that's it then, Vidarbha are through to the quarter finals. They beat the inexperienced Tripura by 34 runs.
Won the toss and opted to field, Tripura started off well. Murasingh got the new ball talking with in swingers and out swingers. He bowled three maiden overs on the trot. Faiz Fazal fell early to Dutta. But then came a partnership that steadied the ship for Vidarbha. Atharwa Taide scored a nice fifty after he got couple of reprieves early on his innings. Ganesh Satish scored a nice forty before his dismissal. At one stage they were 104/3, then Yash Rathod and Akshay Wadkar stitched another fifty plus partnership. Yash Rathod scored a nice fifty. Wadkar got out at his forties. Apoorv Wankhade and Aditya Sarwate played cameos which helped them to get past 250. In the middle Tripura missed lot off opportunities to be on the top of this game. They dropped simple catches, missed easy run outs and got a wicket of a no ball too. Dutta limped off of the field after his nine overs. Murasingh had a bit of eventful day. In the end Vidarbha manages to get 258/7.
The chase was certainly on as the Tripura openers started off well. They stitched a partnership of 96 runs for the opening wicket. It was Atharwa Taide who waved his magic as he trapped Bishal Ghosh in front of the stumps for a nicely played 44 off 64 balls. Then Bikramkumar Das and samit Gohel started another partnership which was going along nicely. It was Faiz Fazal's captaincy that changed game after that. Vidarbha bowlers set the trap for the short deliveries and the Tripura batters fell for it. First to this was Bikramkumar Das. He played nicely for his 61 off 100 balls but couldn't capitalize on the opportunity to finish the game. Then everyone fell to that trap. In between these bouncer dismissals there two unnecessary runouts due to bad calling among themselves. And Tripura couldn't recover from that as they were bundled out for 224 runs and lost it by 34 runs. Yash Thakur got four wickets and Darshan Nalkande took three wickets.
Now Vidarbha will face Himachal Pradesh in the first quarter final on Tuesday here.
