Seth Rance completes his five wicket haul, thoroughly deserved, used the conditions to his advantage, kept it simple, stuck to the basics and gets rewarded. Sheer dominance on display from the Central Stags, bullying otago into submission. The game was beautifully set up by the batters in the first innings, questionable decision by Otago, choosing to bowl first on this surface. Scoring was not easy but the Stags got off to a good start courtesy of Bayley Wiggins. Cleaver and Greg Hay led the charge through the middle overs, regularly deploying sweeps and putting the bad balls away. But it was Greg Hay who stood out, paced his innings beautifully. The experienced campaigner combined with Tom Bruce to take the score 180, which was 15-20 runs above par. Otago's chase never really took off as the openers were sent back into the hut within first three overs. They were always behind the Eight ball after that, in the end they bundle out for 127 and their net run rate will take a massive dent because of that. Central Stags will definitely be a happy camp today, they ticked all the right boxes. They go towards the top of the point table with three wins in four games. Join us tomorrow as Wellington take on Canterbury. That's it from this game guys, this was Anmol Ahuja along with Badal Pareek and Akshayakrishna Polya..cheers!
Rance picks up his 5th wicket of the day. Otago has been bowled out for 127 runs. Central Districts have won by 53 runs.
