And with that, we come to the conclusion of the 30th match of the group stage as South Africa chase down this mere total of 85 with 7 wickets to further lay the groundwork of booking their berth into the semi-finals. This is the seventh victory for South Africa in 7 games against the Tigers in the T20s. The Proteas will now take on England in their final match of the Super 12s on 6th November.
Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks started the chase for the Proteas and the Tigers needed early wickets to have some control in the game. They got exactly that as Taskin Ahmed scalped Reeza Hendricks in just the over itself. Quinton de Kock perhaps got too greedy trying to take on Mahedi Hasan soon after he hit two boundaries and he departed soon after.
Bangladesh kept on knocking and got regular breakthroughs but the first innings total set by them was too low to even have a chance. Taskin Ahmed was sensational at the start as he rattled through the top and middle-order of the Proteas, striking the in-form Markram on a duck.
The skipper, Bavuma came on and played a calm and composed knock along with Rassie Van der Dussen and built a solid partnership of 47 runs. Miller came on and hit the winning runs as they chased down this small total comfortably 6 wickets and more than 6 overs to spare.
