Arya: A valiant effort from the Lankans eventually goes in vain as England keep their winning record intact in the tournament making it four out of four. Wanindu Hasaranga and the skipper Dasun Shanaka kept them in the run-chase for a considerable amount of time but their dismissals allowed England to tighten the screws on the lower order and eventually Sri Lanka fell well short by 26 runs.
Sri Lankan started off pretty poorly losing wickets at regular intervals. Charith Asalanka started off in his own trademark fashion by finding the boundaries on a consistent basis. He smashed 3 fours and a six en route to his breezy knock but succumbed to a brilliant piece of bowling by Adil Rashid.
Kusal Perera and Avishka Fernando also fell in quick succession as Sri Lanka was sliding down the barrel. It was some good positive strokeplay from Bhanuka Rajapaksa which gave the Sri Lankan supporters an array of hope but after his dismissal all seemed lost for the Lankans but the duo of Wanindu Hasaranga and skipper Dasun Shanaka had other ideas.
