A pretty easy win for Punjab Kings as they wrap up the season with six wins and 12 points. Despite the big loss, CSK are primed to finish in the Top 2 due to their superb net run-rate. It has to be told that CSK didn't bat well at all with the exception of Faf Du Plessis who made a valiant 76 off 55 balls.
Chasing 135 for victory, KL Rahul came out all guns blazing with no qualification pressure on the line. The duo of Rahul and Mayank Agarwal raced onto 42-0 after four overs. However, Shardul Thakur came in and dismissed Agarwal and Sarfraz Khan in the space of four deliveries. The quick wickets didn't perturb Rahul as he kept going with positive intent.
The Punjab Kings skipper went onto reach his 27th IPL fifty off just 25 balls before Deepak Chahar bounced out Shahrukh Khan in the 9th over. Aiden Markram came in and looked positive out in the middle but he edged a length delivery to MS Dhoni to become Thakur's third victim. In the end, Rahul smashed a boundary and a six in the same over to finish off the match with seven overs to spare!
