Player Bio

Born in Bradford, Ken Macleay is a former Australian right-arm seamer.

Macleay made his domestic debut in the 1981/82 season for Western Australia. He shot into the limelight by finishing with figures of 5/7 against Victoria in the edition.

The talented pacer made his ODI debut against New Zealand in January 1983, returning with a solitary wicket.

In the 1983 edition of the World Cup, Macleay claimed his career-best figures of 6/39 in the limited-overs format, which helped Australia beat India by 162 runs.

However, the England-born could feature in only 16 ODI matches and took 15 wickets until 1987 before being dropped from the side.

Despite him picking wickets and scoring runs with the willow, Macleay could not stage a comeback in international cricket.

From 1981/82 to 1990/91, Macleay was a part of Western Australia, which secured a title victory on four occasions in the Sheffield Shield.

The right-arm pacer featured for Somerset in the 1991 and 1992 seasons and then announced his retirement.

In 2001, Macleay was named a lifelong member of the WACA Ground for his contributions to cricket.
