Player Bio

Vicky Ostwal, the young sensation who represented Team India in the 2022 edition of the U-19 World Cup, is certainly creating a buzz around the cricket circuit. Born on September 1st, 2002, Ostwal is generally a left-arm off-spinner and can come in handy with a few quickfire-knocks lower down the batting order.

After making a mark in the domestic circuit at the junior level, Ostwal came on the selectors' radar and soon etched his name in the squad for the U-19 Asia Cup and Cricket World Cup in 2021-22. 

Earlier in 2018, the left-arm spinner was part of the Maharashtra U-16 squad. He played a crucial role in that campaign to take his team forward to the semi-final. He was adjudged 'Player of the Match' for his fine all-round performance in the quarter-final. The youngster captained the Varroc Vengsarkar team in the 2019 Varroc Cup and 2020 Wisdom U-19 cricket league in the local tournaments.

The Pune-born lad was also part of India's U-19 B side in the triangular series before selecting the squad for the Asia Cup and World Cup. The U-19 star attracted the eyes of cricket pundits when he delivered a match-winning spell against Sri Lanka in the finals of the U-19 Asia Cup. He bagged three wickets and was very economical, subsequently was named as the 'Player of the Match' in the finals. After his impressive performances in the Asia Cup, Ostwal was added to the Yash Dhull-led U-19 World Cup squad's main squad, who eventually became the champions. 

After a successful U-19 World Cup campaign, Ostwal fetched an Indian Premier League (IPL) contract for the Delhi Capitals (DC) ahead of the 2022 season of the venerable league. So a lot to look forward to the young man in the coming years.
