Player Bio
Born in Perpignan, France, Jacques Banton completed his schooling at Bromsgrove School in Worcester and went to the King's College at Taunton.

Jacques comes from a rich cricketing background as his father, Colin Banton, represented Nottinghamshire in seven First-Class matches and two List A matches in the 1995 season. In addition, his older brother, Tom Banton, is a renowned star in the white-ball format for England and Somerset.

The Perpignan-born started his cricketing career at the Warwickshire academy in 2016, and due to lack of game time, he moved to their local rivals, Worcestershire, in 2018-19.

In 2021, the right-handed batter started to make some strong waves playing with the Second XI team. He featured in three Championship matches while being a regular starter in the T20 side, which impressed the Worcestershire management, and was awarded a rookie contract in June 2021.

The witty all-rounder idolizes his brother's gameplay, so he is an attacking batter besides being a canny slow left-arm orthodox bowler.

Worcestershire's cap number 77 aims to come out of his brother's shadows and make a name for himself by playing for England someday.

The 20-year-old received his first List A cap on July 25th, 2021, against Kent in the 2021 Royal London One-Day Cup, but didn't make much of an impact in his side's victory but went on to play another two matches where he had decent outings. Currently, he is trying to hone his skills with the Second XI.
