Player Bio

A left-arm slow orthodox bowler who has come through the ranks for Lancashire and England, his name is Jack Morley. He progressed through Lancashire’s age-group system and signed a professional contract with the club in 2019. The spinner has also donned the English jersey at the U-19 level.

Born in Lancashire, Morley made his name in junior cricket when he toured with England Young Lions to India and Bangladesh in 2019. However, he was always a young prodigy who took long leaps from a young age. The spinner started club cricket with Heywood Cricket Club and has also represented the North at National Super 4’s level. In 2018, he got the chance to play for Red Rose’s Second XI, where the spinner made some noteworthy appearances.

The following year, a 19-year-old Morley made his big Championship debut against Derbyshire. The spinner formed a formidable pair with his mate, Tom Hartley to bowl the opposition out on the final day. Morley took a four-wicket haul on the last day while adding to the key first innings wicket of Harvey Hosein.

Since then, the young southpaw has been putting in notable performances for the Second XI, across all formats. At 20, Morley is relatively young but his talent suggests that the spinner has a bright future ahead.
