Ikra Farooq is another upcoming talent for Scotland national team. He is an attacking batter who is also well capable of bowling off-break. All-rounder Farooq has represented Scotland A and is taunted to be an asset in the national team.
Farooq is of Pakistani descent, her father introduced her to the sport. He and her younger brother used to play backyard cricket before cricket became more than a hobby for the allrounder. She started playing professionally at the school level. However, initially, she started as a seamer but soon shifted into a spinner for good.
A young Farooq first showcased her skillset in the Premier League competition. After impressing with both bat and ball in the local competition, the allrounder was selected for the Scotland A team to play in the United Kingdom. In 2020, Farooq was named in Scotland's 14-member squad for the four-match T20I series against Ireland.
At 22 years of age, the allrounder has proved herself in the domestic competitions, as well as in the UK, that she is ready to take on the international level. If given a good number of opportunities, Farooq can become a lethal Wildcat.
