Player Bio

A bright young bowling all-rounder with raw talent, Mohammad Wasim Jr is a professional cricketer for the Pakistan national team. The teenage sensation has established himself in the Pakistan U-19 squad as a replacement of Naseem Shah and hit new heights recently in the 2020 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy taking 14 wickets for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa team that shared the winner’s medal.

To achieve his goal to become a cricketer, Wasim has made rapid strides, starting his journey with tape-ball cricket in North Waziristan in early 2011 and took a real flight once he migrated to Peshawar and trained with the hardball.

Wasim made his debut for Islamabad United and sent several batsmen to the pavilion, including Shahid Afridi, Sohaib Maqsood, and Mohammad Rizwan to announce his arrival at the highest level. The youngster made himself known at the domestic stage in November 2020 and got the much-needed limelight in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

With just a handful of domestic matches under his belt, Wasim has travelled with the national squad on numerous occasions since March 2021 but hasn’t got a chance to represent his country. Recently included in the limited-overs series against England, the speedster can be a threat to any batting lineup with his sheer pace and bounce.
